All members of a Country must wear a surcoat or they may be
forced to fight as nomads. A surcoat can be a tabard that is
worn from the neck and covers the torso, a small banner worn at
the waist, or a shoulder to waist sash. Surcoats may not be
stolen.
Each Country must have its own symbol that is easily
distinguished from any existing Country's symbol. Country
members must bear their Country's symbol on their surcoats
and/or shields.
Also note that any character achieving 15th rank or higher may
choose and wear a personal symbol from his belt. Personal
symbols may not be larger than Country symbols and a player
wearing a personal symbol must also wear his Country symbol.
Where did the rule go about Noble's wearing their symbols"? Must they wear a country Surcoat? I can not find it in the rules.

See my proposal HERE. This looks like exactly like what I am talking about in the
second part of my proposal. Per the rule book nobles would no longer be able to wear personal symbols in place of their country symbol. In fact they would only
be able to wear a belt sash with their noble symbol provided their character was over rank 15. So a Cavalier that was less than rank 15 would not be able to
wear a a noble symbol.
I know what Inox said about not allowing ourselves to be hindered from keeping the game on course. But we need to do as much as possible by the book, first and that means we need to remove that section from the introduction. Then we need to put back into the rule book all the bits and pieces that were removed or lost and no one knows why.

I believe a previous President stated that was unintentional and said that nobles can wear their personal surcoats and have them count.

To clarify, yes I did make this ruling and I did propose that it be added back to the rulebook (which the Senate approved unanimously). At that point, it
should have been added, but is not there for some reason. I can't really explain why not other than to say that it must have just been an oversight by
those doing the editing at the time.

Slap a goddamned symbol somwhere on your person. IT'S NOT DIFFICULT.It reduces confusion when fighting. I have hard enough time remembering which COUNTRIES I am fighting against in two-teams, let alone specific people.

I can see Ignius' point however. We take it for granted that we know all the nobles and what country they fight for, but take someone who has been out for
less than a year. They have the item of campout winning and are approached by Sir Bannor, who's noble symbol I believe is a Preying Mantis. He for whatever
reason has decided to not wear a laconian belt sash, as since he is a noble, he doesn't have to. Now the newbie has been fighting against Laconia all day,
but Sir Bannor arrived late to the campout, and has not fought against the newbie. The newbie seeing a noble of the realm decides to team up with Sir Bannor
for a better chance of surviving to the turn in point. Sir Bannor takes the item, challenges the newbie to a duel to the death, and kills him handily.
The newbie got screwed because he had no idea which country the noble fought for. Im not saying that it would happen often, and just used skip as an example though I know he would have more honor than that, but there is at least 1 shifty noble in the realm, and Im sure there could be others, who their country colors are not portrayed as a part of their noble livery. Not looking to screw nobles out of their due, just want people to see that there could be some confusion due to a noble not wearing a country beltsymbol/colors. Fingers the Rogue

This is a perk Nobles have always had, and its lack of inclusion in the current rulebook is a mere accidental omission.
